What is Mental Health ?

Mental health encompasses our psychological, emotional, and social well-being. This means it impacts how we feel, thinks, and behave each day. Our mental health also contributes to our decision-making process, how we cope with stress and how we relate to others in our lives, and in our professional life. Mental health problems affect around one in four people (world-wide) in any given year.  In the last few years, the world has become more aware of this enormous burden and the tremendous potential for mental health gains. Mental health is crucial to the overall well-being of individuals, societies, and countries. The magnitude, suffering, and burden in terms of disability and costs for individuals, families, and societies are staggering. Globally, it is estimated that as many as 450 million people suffer from a mental or behavioral disorder and nearly one million people commit suicide each year. One in four families has at least one member with a mental disorder.

All mental processes are brain processes, and therefore all disorders of mental functioning are biological diseases. Our Brain controls and coordinates actions and reactions, allows us to think and feel, and enables us to have memories and feelings—all the things that make us human. 

We believe to be able to deal with Mental Health we have to talk about the 3 important aspects – Neuroscience, psychology, and Meditation.

Hence, we talk to the experts in this field to understand more about what really is mental health and how we can take care of it.
